Lotte Chemical unit signs agreements for Indonesian petrochemical facility

Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd’s unit, Pt Lotte Chemical Indonesia (LCI), has entered into related party transactions involving the company's integrated petrochemical facility in Indonesia.
Known as the Lotte Chemical Indonesia New Ethylene Project, LCI has awarded contracts to Lotte Data Communication Co Ltd (LDCC), Lotte Engineering & Construction Co Ltd (LEC) and Kine Project Jo for the engineering, procurement and construction of an automatic warehouse and bagging area in the petrochemical facility, a filing with Bursa Malaysia said.

Indonesia's Pertamina plans a gas-fired plant for a refinery project with Rosneft

Pertamina NRE, an affiliate of the Indonesian national oil and gas company Pertamina, has signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) with Pertamina Rosneft Processing and Petrochemical (PRPP) regarding the electricity, steam, and water supply at the Tuban Grass Root Refinery (GRR) project in East Java (Indonesia). Pertamina will install an LNG-based cogeneration power plant with a capacity of 570 MW and provide steam with a capacity of 84 to 1,156 t/h, depending on pressure. LNG will be supplied from Pertamina Gas Negara (PGN). The power plant is targeted to operate in 2026.

GRR Tuban is designed with the capacity to process 300 kb/d of crude oil and will produce 230 kb/d in total and 4.1 Mt/year of petrochemical and aromatic products. The refinery is scheduled to be commissioned in 2027. The project is developed by Pertamina Rosneft Processing and Petrochemical (PRPP), a joint venture between Pertamina (55%) and Rosneft (45%).

Indonesian petrochemical giant achieves sustainability milestones

Chandra Asri, the largest integrated petrochemical company in Indonesia, has significantly boosted sustainability through Nalco Water’s 3D TRASARTM Cooling Water Technology, which enables effective remote and digital monitoring of water operations. Since the 3D TRASAR system was first installed at Chandra Asri’s plant in Cilegon, Banten in 2015, the company has gradually moved more of its water monitoring to the program and in 2020, reported its largest ever savings in water, energy, greenhouse gas emissions and waste.

Técnicas Reunidas to move forward with a petrochemical project in Indonesia

Técnicas Reunidas begins the launch of the second phase of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Tuban project in East Java, Indonesia. This is one of the largest industrial projects planned to be carried out worldwide in the coming years. The project will develop an integrated petrochemical complex, including aromatics and ethylene plants with a capacity of more than one million tons. The feedstock used in these plants will come from a greenfield refinery with a capacity to process 300,000 barrels/day.

Siemens, Bentley Systems to build petrochemical digital twin in Indonesia

Siemens and Bentley Systems have partnered to develop the first petrochemical digital twin for Chandra Asri, an integrated petrochemical complex in Indonesia. The development and implementation of the proposed digital twin is expected to be carried out in phases, from 2020 to 2025.

The digital twin of Chandra Asri’s integrated petrochemical complex will visualise the digitalised data about the plant assets and the engineering data, transforming analog plant data into an automated digital twin framework. FKA Global has been contracted for the systems integration and to provide digitalisation services, maintenance and enhancement of the solution after implementation.
